In short

This is a static site. It sets no cookies, uses no advertising services, embeds no fonts, scripts or maps from third parties and has no form. Visits are counted with a simple, self-hosted visitor counter without cookies (see below); no IP address is stored.

Hosting and server log files

The site is hosted on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you open a page, the server processes technically necessary data and writes it to log files: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data sent, response code, browser identifier and, where sent, the referring page. This is needed to deliver the site safely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted after 14 days.

Cookies and browser storage

No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser. You choose the language yourself with the switch at the top; it is not stored anywhere.

Visitor counting

To see how many people visit the site and the short links, I use GoatCounter, self-hosted on my own server at stats.transitrush.com. No data is passed to third parties. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser and system type, screen size and the country, roughly derived from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. So that repeat visits by the same person are not counted twice, a short-lived check value is formed from the IP address and browser identifier; it cannot be reversed and is not stored permanently. No cookies are set for this. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in knowing the site’s reach (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

External links

The site contains links, for example to Steam (Valve) and OpenStreetMap. A connection to that third party is only made when you click such a link, and its own privacy policy applies. No data flows there before that.

Contact by e-mail

If you write to me, I process your e-mail address and message in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or (b) where a contract is concerned). I delete them once the matter is closed and no retention duty applies.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You may complain to a supervisory authority, in Hamburg the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
